Gail Goodman's definitive book on Salukis Saluqi: Coursing Hound of the East

Historical Foundations for Midbar Salukis:
Igal Sella's Sinai Bedouin dogs

Igal Sella's Foundation Dogs:

Ruah in whelp with one of her litters by Lobo.

Bedouin bred Lobo, acquired by Igal Sella in the late 1960s. Lobo was bred to Ruah three times and all Midbar Salukis descend from these two Bedouin hounds.

Ruah Tarabin, about 10 years old here. Igal Sella's foundation Saluki, a gift from Salim Ibn Jahzi, from the oasis of Ein Fortaga in the Sinai Peninsula. Ruah is in the pedigree of all Midbar Salukis. She was bred to Lobo, also Bedouin bred, three times.
